a glass artist and educator.
For more than 20 years I dedicated my life to the performing arts and the study of creative movement, feeling immense joy from the styles of Ballet, Irish Step, and Modern dance, and participating in wide range of events from small community shows to full length productions. When my body would not allow me to continue, I struggled to find a medium that satiated my desire for exploration, play, and adventure. Glass has refueled my creative reservoirs where other mediums fell short, and I am grateful for the community and connection I’ve found along the way. I’ve traded my pointe shoes for power tools and I’ve never felt more engaged in my creative practice.
Participating in the glass world as an instructor has furthered my love for the craft. I am blown away, over and over again, by my students and their creativity. I am humbled by knowledge shared openly between students, mentors, and professionals. I believe that knowledge sharing is key to growth and at the same time I respect the time it takes to develop that knowledge. I am dedicated to safe studio practices and appreciate collaborating with artists who recognize the hazardous potential of the beautiful materials we are so fortunate to work with.
I continue to develop my skills by taking courses and workshops, attending events and demonstrations, and working at non-profit art studios around the Bay Area.
